Job Summary: The Medical Writer will join our AskMD content development team and be responsible for helping to maintain AskMD's clinical standards. This person will research, write, and maintain content for AskMD, our computer-based clinical decision support system. AskMD is written for and used by consumers to assess symptoms and manage health problems, communicate relevant information to their doctor, and manage personal health data.
Essential Job Functions: * Plan, research, write, and edit engaging, clinically-sound health content * Identify and interpret respected health and medical literature (including medical textbooks, peer-reviewed journals, full-text studies, and clinical practice guidelines) and translate them into consumer-friendly content * Abstract and synthesize clinical knowledge from quality sources in accordance with the standards and conventions of AskMD medical content authoring * Master and utilize proprietary content authoring software * Quality assurance verification of AskMD content * Maintain and provide enhancements to existing content * Understand business and client goals for content and be able to execute those goals while maintaining the editorial standards of Sharecare. * Contribute to department planning, operation, or procedure improvements * Perform other content-related duties as assigned
